The requirements of PMP certification

Requirements of PMP certification

Requirements for PMP certification are quite different from other certifications. You need to have some previous experience of project management to appear in this exam, without experience you can’t apply for the PMP certifications. Fresh graduates or someone who just entered the field of project management can't do this certification. 

Apart from that, you will need to have a bachelor's degree or any three years degree from a recognized university. 3 years or more experience is mandatory for PMP certification, which needs to be 4500 hours. If you have 3 years' experience but it is less than 4500 hours, then you can't appear in the PMP certification.

You will also need project management education of 35 hours, which you can get from the PMP exam prep or any PMP training.

If you don't have a four-year degree, still you can appear on the exam with a secondary diploma and 5 years of experience in project management. Those 5 years should at least contain 7500 hours of project management experience in project leading and directing.
